'I chose as part of my studies to do a study tour to Indonesia where students engage in an intensive design studio with international students at an international university.
The teaching staff within the school come from diverse backgrounds both architecturally and culturally. Learning about the differences within the field and the opportunities available to students overseas as well as within Australia further enhances our experience. I have had countless positive experiences with staff at Deakin. The effort and care some staff put into their subjects, but also relationships with their students is incredible.
As much as I detest the word, studying architecture is a 'journey' and you learn a lot about who you are as a designer but also who you are as a person. My architectural studies have forced me to question what I believe in, my ethical position, what jobs I may or may not be willing to work on in the future, what my motivations are behind studying and engaging with the field, and where I want my relationship with architecture to take me.'

We acknowledge our outstanding students and their contribution to Deakin.
